Organic farming in algeria: potential and perspectives of development
The conventional Algerian agriculture suffers from under sustainable competitiveness and low integration with external markets. Traditional policies and successive agricultural development plans have produced poor results with regard to the potential and the needs of the country. Deal with such a finding, organic farming can be an interesting alternative for developing local resources, especially as the global market continues to grow, in a context of food crisis. Sustainability, profitability of this agriculture and proximity to growing markets (Europe) are also factors that favor the development of this agricultural model in Algeria. This article attempts to answer the question of the potential and prospects of the organic farming in Algeria.
